Legends of NorrathLegends of NorrathMechamatic Scenario Under Way; 4v1 Info Released

There's already a bunch of events going on in Legends of Norrath, and the list keeps getting bigger. We already reported on the Championship Qualifier that's being held this weekend and the new Bloody Kithicor 4v1 raid, but now there's also a Mechamatic Guardian scenario you can try out through July 15.

The first time you defeat the scenario, which is full of mechanical creatures, you'll win the Coilwork Spitter promo card and either the Mechamatic Remote Control loot card for EverQuest or the A Clockwork Plushie loot card for EverQuest II. As always, you can win up to four copies of the promo card per account.

And if you're interested in attempting to defeat the 4v1 raid, Game Designer Joe "Palejo" Alread has written an article that provides more information on the encounter. "Each player in the raid will have control over one of the four champions: Firiona Vie, Lanys T'vyl, Laarthik K'shin, and Galeth Veredeth. These champions can help you as they have some decent stats, but beware: if any of them are destroyed Bahgresh will be victorious and you will suffer defeat."

You can read Alread's full article after the jump.

Today I'm here to talk about the battle of Bloody Kithicor, the latest 4v1 raid for Legends of Norrath! What's new about this raid? The answer is quite a bit, so let's talk about this epic battle.

It's Not About You

The raid boss (General Bahgresh) doesn't care about killing you. You mean nothing to him at all, actually. The only thing Bahgresh cares about is killing off the champions of Bloody Kithicor and altering its outcome. I present to you one of those champions that you are in charge of protecting: Firiona Vie.

Each player in the raid will have control over one of the four champions: Firiona Vie, Lanys T'vyl, Laarthik K'shin, and Galeth Veredeth. These champions can help you as they have some decent stats, but beware: if any of them are destroyed Bahgresh will be victorious and you will suffer defeat.

At 50 health, you might not be too worried about these guys becoming destroyed. Not so fast! Bahgresh and his Agents of Discord are going to throw all sorts of things at you to deal with.

Kyv Slayer dishes out a harsh penalty to players who choose to ignore him. If you allow him to deal 20 damage you're probably going to be in a lot of trouble. There are other, less severe units who deal less than 20 damage that you'll come across as well, but the slayer is certainly a unit you'll want to dispose of quickly. On any given turn, there'll be units like the slayer that you'll need to deal with.

Level Tokens Are Key

Bahgresh has a couple of other tricks as well. His gametext allows him to place level tokens easily. Quite easily. In fact, if players do nothing about it Bahgresh can have upwards of ten level tokens out at any given time (or more!). Why should players care? There are a number of reasons.

By late game, these tactics (and some of his abilities) can trigger powerful abilities that will break your team in half if unprepared. We've seen Bahgresh play a free tactic for upwards of +24 total attack and +12 total damage!

Defeating Bahgresh will be no easy task, and players are going to have to construct decks that are quite different from their everyday tournament decks in order to take him out. Good luck!
