You need to close with the weapon, not the spell, in order to get a boost to the amount of WS points gained. |

It's not really forcing loyalty, as even games with just one grouping ([sm]Linkshell, Guild, what have you[/sm]), you can still go outside to do things with other people. That being said, I kind of prefer to be have just a single group of people, as that'll allow the group to familiarize themselves |
